Frequently asked

Using the error-code guide

How do I read an appliance error or fault code?

Note the exact code or message shown on the panel (including any letters and the full number), then find your brand below and look it up. Modern built-ins store fault codes the control board has logged; reading them is the fastest way to know which subsystem is failing before any parts are touched.

Do error codes mean the same thing across brands and models?

No. Each brand — and often each control generation — uses its own code scheme. Sub-Zero Built-In codes are well documented and listed in full; Wolf, Viking, Thermador, KitchenAid and GE Monogram codes vary more by model, so we decode the well-known ones precisely and tell you when to confirm a number against your manual.

Can I clear a code myself?

Some clear after you fix the cause or cycle power at the breaker for a minute; many point to sensor, board, sealed-system or gas faults that need a technician. Each code page lists the safe owner checks and where the line is. If a code returns after a reset, the underlying fault is still present.

What does a repair cost, and is it under warranty?

The diagnostic/service call is a flat $89, and every repair we perform is backed by a 365-day warranty on parts and labor. You get a clear quote before any work begins. Call (650) 668-1554 or book online.
