The board flagged the sensor as either electrically open, shorted, or producing erratic temperatures for more than 10 seconds. In plain terms, the brain of the fridge can no longer trust the temperature sensor that tells it how cold the food compartment is.

This is almost always a sensor or wiring/connector problem rather than a sealed-system or compressor failure, so it is usually a moderate, repairable issue.
