Subzero Repair is a repair company, not a parts retailer — we don't ship loose parts. Instead we source the exact genuine OEM Sub-Zero or Wolf component matched to your model and serial number and install it during the repair, then document that part on your invoice. The diagnostic is a flat $89, credited toward the repair, and every completed job carries a 365-day warranty on parts and labor.

Why exact model + serial matching matters

On built-in Sub-Zero and Wolf equipment, the model number alone isn't enough. A single model often runs through several internal revisions over its production life — a later control board, a redesigned evaporator fan, a different door-gasket profile. Two units with identical model badges can need different parts. The serial number pins down which revision you actually own, so the part we order fits the chassis, speaks to the right board, and behaves correctly instead of throwing nuisance codes. Matching at the serial level is the difference between a clean, lasting repair and a part that looks right but fails again in months.

Common parts we source and install

  • Door gaskets / magnetic seals — Frost lines, condensation and door-alarm faults — gasket profile varies by model and generation.
  • Evaporator & condenser fan motors — Warm-on-one-side cooling, noise or no airflow; the correct motor differs by cabinet and revision.
  • Control / relay / power boards — Blank panels, error codes and intermittent faults — boards are revised often, so the part must match the serial.
  • Compressors & sealed-system parts — Driers, valves and refrigerant work — EPA-608-certified install only, never DIY.
  • Water inlet valves & fill tubes — No water, slow fill or leaks on dispensers and ice makers.
  • Ice-maker modules & assemblies — Empty bins, jammed harvest or oversized/hollow cubes.
  • Thermistors / temperature sensors — Wrong temperatures or false alarms when a sensor drifts out of spec.
  • Hinges, cams & door hardware — Sagging doors, panel-ready alignment and self-close cams.
  • Shelving, bins & interior trim — Genuine replacements that fit the exact column or under-counter unit.

Sealed-system, board and compressor parts are professional-install only

Door bins and shelves are simple. Sealed-system work is not. Replacing a compressor, drier, valve or any refrigerant-bearing part legally and safely requires EPA Section 608 certification — it is not a DIY job, and an incorrect recovery or charge can destroy the system or create a real hazard. Control and power boards are the same story: they have to be matched to the serial revision, installed without static or wiring errors, and verified under load. We handle these as a complete diagnose-source-install-test cycle so the whole repair is accountable and warrantied.

How sourcing works in the Bay Area

Once we confirm the fault and the exact part from your model and serial, we order from genuine OEM Sub-Zero and Wolf distribution. Many common parts — gaskets, fans, valves, sensors, ice-maker modules — are stocked locally and arrive quickly; serial-specific boards or sealed-system components can carry a short distributor lead time, which we tell you up front before you commit. The part number we install is written on your invoice, so you have a clear record of exactly what went into your appliance.

What you get

  • Serial-matched sourcing — the correct revision for your specific unit.

FAQ

Parts questions

Do you sell Sub-Zero parts?

We are a repair service, not a parts counter — we don't ship loose parts or sell over the counter. What we do is source the exact genuine OEM Sub-Zero or Wolf part matched to your model and serial number and install it as part of the repair, then list that part on your invoice. That way the part is correct, fitted properly, and covered by our 365-day warranty on parts and labor.

Can I buy the part myself and have you install it?

On built-in Sub-Zero and Wolf equipment we generally don't fit customer-supplied parts. The reason is accountability and safety: one model can have several board, fan or gasket revisions, and sealed-system or board work has to be matched and tested as a unit. When we supply and install the OEM part, the whole repair carries our warranty; with an outside part, neither the part nor the diagnosis can be guaranteed.

How do I find my model and serial number?

On most Sub-Zero refrigerators the model/serial plate is inside the upper-left fresh-food compartment, often on the ceiling or side wall near the grille; on Wolf ranges and ovens it's usually behind a kick panel, on the oven frame behind the door, or along the side trim. Send us those numbers when you book and we can confirm the right part before the technician arrives.

Are aftermarket parts okay on a Sub-Zero or Wolf?

We use genuine OEM parts only. Aftermarket gaskets, boards and fan motors are a common cause of repeat failures, poor seals and nuisance error codes on high-end built-ins, and they can void coverage. Sourcing the factory part costs a little more but holds up over the 20-plus-year service life these units are built for.

Why does the exact serial number matter so much?

Because the same model number can ship with different internal revisions over its production run — a later control board, a redesigned evaporator fan, a different gasket profile. The serial number pins down which revision you actually have, so we order the part that fits and functions instead of one that merely looks right.

Do I pay extra for the part diagnosis?

There's a flat $89 diagnostic that covers identifying the real fault and the exact part needed. That $89 is credited toward the repair when you go ahead, and every completed repair is backed by a 365-day warranty on parts and labor.

“Our Wolf gas range in San Jose was running about 40 degrees hot and burning everything we baked. Dave put a probe thermometer in, recalibrated the offset, and confirmed it with a second bake before he left. Honest guy, didn't try to sell me a new sensor I didn't need.”

Marco D.San Jose · Wolf · gas range

“Our Thermador induction cooktop in Fremont stopped recognizing pans on the front-left zone. Jim found a cracked induction coil and a loose ribbon connector behind the glass, and had it sensing cookware again the same visit. Honest about what was worth fixing versus replacing.”

Lena K.Fremont · Thermador · induction cooktop

“The Sub-Zero freezer in our Campbell home was running warm and short-cycling. Jim traced it to a control board fault rather than the compressor, which was a relief, but the board had to be ordered and installed on a follow-up visit. Communicative about timing and fair on the bill.”

Omar S.Campbell · Sub-Zero · freezer

“The lower oven on our Wolf double wall oven in Alameda stopped reaching temperature while the upper one was fine. Steve found a burned-out bake element and showed me the break in the coil before swapping it. Neat work and he reset the clock for me before he left.”

Hannah B.Alameda · Wolf · wall oven

“The touch panel on our Wolf microwave drawer in Burlingame went unresponsive and the drawer wouldn't latch closed to start. Jim diagnosed a failed membrane switch and a door interlock that wasn't confirming closed, replaced both, and tested the lockout safety before handing it back. Punctual and explained why it refused to run.”

Theo K.Burlingame · Wolf · microwave drawer

“Our Sub-Zero freezer in Oakland started warming and the ice cream went soft. Dave pulled the panel, spotted a failed evaporator fan motor, and had a matching part on the truck. He explained the whole diagnosis in plain terms and left the kitchen spotless.”
