What F1E1 indicates

F1E1 is a control-board self-test failure on the Whirlpool platform. At power-up and during operation the ERC runs internal checks on its memory and logic; when one of those checks fails it posts F1E1. This is the brain of the oven, so cooking functions become unreliable or disabled.

Internal control faults are usually driven by age, heat cycling that cracks solder joints, or a power surge that corrupts the board's memory or damages a component.
